Free resume builder that keeps your details on your device
A resume is a one- or two-page document where layout and readability matter, and where the contents — your address, your phone number, your work history — are personal. Most online builders ask you to create an account and upload all of that to their servers. SlimDoc runs entirely in your browser. You type your resume on a real A4 page, see exactly where it breaks, and export a print-perfect PDF — and nothing ever leaves your device.
Why SlimDoc for resume
Your personal details never leave your machine
Your name, contacts, and employment history are sensitive. SlimDoc runs locally in the browser. There's no account and no upload — your resume stays on your device, and it works offline if you close the tab and come back.
A real A4 page, so you can see one or two pages
Resumes live or die on length. SlimDoc gives you a true A4 page (210×297mm) with live pagination, so a page break appears the moment your content spills over. You can tighten line spacing or margins and watch the second page disappear.
Plain selectable text that stays ATS-readable
Your PDF is real, selectable text — not a flattened image. Applicant tracking systems and recruiters can copy, search, and parse it. Use headings, fonts, and alignment for a sharp look without trapping your words inside a picture.
What you can do
- H1–H4 headings to structure your name, sections, and roles
- 9 font families and 6–100px sizing for a clean, consistent look
- Left, center, right, and justify alignment plus line-spacing presets to control length
- True A4 pages with live pagination so you see exactly where page two begins
- Margin presets (None, Narrow, Normal, Moderate, Wide) to fit one or two pages
- One-click export to a crisp, selectable PDF via your browser's print dialog
How to make it
Lay out your sections
Open the editor and add your name as an H1, then H2 headings for Experience, Education, and Skills. Use bullet lists for responsibilities and keep dates right-aligned for a clean column.
Tune the type and the length
Pick one font family, set a readable size, and choose a line-spacing preset. Watch the live A4 page — if it spills onto a third page, narrow the margins or tighten spacing until it sits on one or two pages.
Export a crisp PDF
Switch to Preview to check the finished page, then use Print / Export to PDF. The output is faithful and the text stays selectable and ATS-readable. Save the .html file too so you can re-open and edit it later.
Frequently asked
Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
No. SlimDoc runs entirely in your browser. There's no account and no server upload — your resume and personal details stay on your device. It even works offline.
Will the PDF be ATS-readable?
Yes. The exported PDF contains real, selectable text rather than a flattened image, so applicant tracking systems and recruiters can copy, search, and parse it. Sticking to standard headings and a single readable font keeps parsing reliable.
Can I keep my resume to one or two pages?
Yes. SlimDoc shows a true A4 page with live pagination, so you can see exactly where a page break lands. Adjust the line-spacing preset and the margin preset (None, Narrow, Normal, Moderate, Wide) to fit one or two pages.
Is it really free, and do I need to sign up?
It's free, with no sign-up and no watermark on your export. Open the editor and start typing — nothing to install, no account to create.
Can I come back and edit my resume later?
Yes. SlimDoc saves one self-contained .html file with all styling inlined. It re-opens straight back into the editor so you can tweak it for the next application, and it also renders and prints correctly in any browser.
Can I add a photo or a colored heading?
Yes. You can insert an image from your device — it's embedded inline so it travels inside the file — and resize it by dragging. You also get a full color picker for headings and text if you want a touch of color.
